Lumma, developers of the 4D E-Motion system, announced the launch of a new immersive format.

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Lumma presented Magnify 8 at the 2024 edition of VISTA.

“Since our first presentation at VISTA 2015, we have traveled a path of hard work and many adventures, accompanied by a team of very talented people at Lumma. Today, with 60 operating theaters in 14 countries, we are filled with pride and recognition. This allowed us to continue innovating and developing new technologies and solutions for exhibitors. We are excited to announce the launch of a new format: Magnify 8,” says Antonela Salvador, Creative Director and Founding Partner of Lumma.

What’s Magnify 8? It’s a format compatible with all seats that integrates a pre-programmed vibration system through 8 actuators: 5 in the seat and 3 in the backrest. These combined actuators allow for the creation of vibration motion paths with different frequencies and intensities. Synchronization is highly precise. It is carried out with artistic criteria and is approved by the studios.

“Magnify 8 is unique in the market as it provides an extremely versatile solution for implementation in movie theaters. Magnify 8 offers a deeply immersive experience  amplifying all emotions to the maximum,” adds Salvador.

Some of the advantages of Magnify 8:

  • Transforms any screen into a unique, premium experience.
  • Does not require structural modifications.
  • It is highly versatile as it can be adapted to any seat.
  • Allows for gradual implementation, upgrading selected seats with the possibility of progressive expansion.
  • Wi-Fi communication; no cabling is required.
  • Includes central equipment provided by Lumma.
  • It’s integrated with POS systems.
  • It has the robustness and guarantee of 4D E-Motion technology.
  • Rapid return on investment.

Magnify 8 has three implementation modes:

  • On new seats. It can even come directly from the factory with the M8, as the company is in communication with several seat manufacturers.
  • On existing seats in a theater, Lumma’s team can integrate the system by refurbishing the seat with a simple installation.
  • For existing seats that are not in good condition, or the foam is not thick enough, Lumma offers the M8 Cover, custom-designed for each seat model. The entire system is integrated into the cover and is very easy to install. This also gives the seat a new look.

Either option allows for very agile implementation.
