Multicines and Lumma have announced they are opening a new 4D E-Motion theatre in Ecuador, boasting 72 seats at San Luis Shopping in Quito in November 2026, marking their thirteenth 4D E-Motion theater across the country.
After a successful introduction of the premium format in October 2019 in Quito at Condado Shopping, Multicines installed a 104‑seat 4D E‑Motion auditorium at CCI in Quito in December 2020. Not long after in October 2021, Multicines opened a 4D E‑Motion auditorium in Cuenca at Millennium Plaza shopping center, betting on attracting audiences by offering an innovative and differentiated premium experience. Since then, Guayaquil has seen the launch of three 4D E‑Motion auditoriums: Mall del Norte in 2023, San Marino in 2024, Mall del Sur in 2026. Six of Multicines’ thirteen auditoriums were installed in 2026, including openings in new cities: Manta, Ambato and Machala. Multicines has established itself as a leader in innovation in regional film exhibitions, accounting for more than 47% of Ecuador’s box-office market.
Multicines has also integrated Lumma’s Magnify 8 technology in May 2025 at two Quito locations with 4D E-Motion auditoriums, further expanding the chain’s premium format offering: El Recreo, Quito’s largest 4D E-Motion auditorium with 112 seats at the country’s highest and most visited complex, as well as Scala Shopping. Multicines and Lumma are excited to continue their collaboration, with many projects in the pipeline and more exciting announcements to come.
